Pupilo holds audiovisual production workshop with young people from the CRAS of Pinhais/PR

Young people from the Cras and the Youth Center make a short film about cyberbullying called “A opinião é sua, a realidade é minha” (The opinion is yours, the reality is mine).

On the night of last Thursday (14), the Municipal Department of Social Assistance (Semas), through the Social Assistance Reference Centers (Cras) and the Youth Center (CJ), in partnership with Pupilo TV, screened the short film “A opinião é sua, a realidade é minha”. The film session is the result of the audiovisual production of participants in the Realidades Project, developed with the public served by Pinhais’ Social Assistance services. The event was held at the Wanda dos Santos Mallmann Cultural Center in an open session, attended by Mayor Rosa Maria.

Over eight meetings, the “Projeto Realidades” video production workshop took place at the Youth Center, with the goal of reflecting on the practices of violence that happen nowadays through digital technologies, practices known as cyberbullying. The meetings included practical filming exercises and film club activities on this theme and, closing the workshop cycle, an audiovisual piece was produced involving the teenagers and young people of the Cras’ Coexistence and Bond Strengthening Service and the CJ’s Citizenship Agents program. The short film’s premiere featured cultural performances by the breakdance group Flying Boys Crew and the urban dance, classical ballet and contemporary dance group 041 Company. All participants in “Projeto Realidades” received personalized T-shirts, certificates and flash drives with the film produced. “After the first screening, the film will be made available on the website and on the CJ’s YouTube channel. The production will also be used to promote film debates in the service groups and, if possible, in schools,” explains the director of Semas’ Basic Social Care Department, Gizeli Filius.

Present at the event, the municipal secretary of Social Assistance, Rosangela Batista, stresses that the audiovisual material aimed to promote reflection on the importance of digital respect and the prevention of cyberbullying: “The phenomenon of cyberbullying has become increasingly relevant in the context of contemporary youth, with significant impacts on young people’s mental and emotional health.”

For Rudolfo Auffinger, director of Pupilo TV, the premiere event for the workshop’s productions is a moment of realization. “It is the moment when the work is presented to the public and one can follow the reactions and discuss the film’s theme and the film’s screenwriting and production processes. For us at Pupilo, being part of the coordination of Projeto Realidades was a unique experience. Both the project’s organizing committee and the young participants were very committed and responsible with the film and with the smooth running of the workshop. A project we already miss and that serves as a reference for our portfolio,” he added.

Citizenship agent Thallyta Dias da Silva, 18, a resident of the Pineville neighborhood, took part in the project and acted in the short film “A opinião é sua, a realidade é minha”: “It was a great learning experience, we got to feel what it’s like to be behind the cameras and what it’s like to record, to make a scene cut… these sensations were unique for me and I made new friends.”
