Pupilo launches survey to understand the use of Audiovisual in the Classroom
The survey “Audiovisual Education: how do educators work with films in the school routine?” is receiving answers from educators, education departments and school boards of public and private schools. The goal of the survey is to understand the use of films and videos in the classroom routine. Based on the contributions, Pupilo TV is developing a film streaming tool dedicated to Brazilian basic education schools.
Even though technology has made it easier to screen films, which used to happen through physical media (DVD, VHS), the responsibility of finding and screening the film has now fallen on the educator, who previously had an audiovisual collection within the educational institutions, maintained by the school board or education departments, which invested time and money in acquiring physical media. “Through the survey we can understand the situation of schools and the behavior of educators, and make the experience of watching films at school easier,” comments Sinclair Biazotti, pedagogical coordinator at Pupilo TV, when presenting the survey.
The survey takes place mainly in the Midwest region of Santa Catarina, which includes the municipalities of Água Doce, Catanduvas, Herval D’Oeste, Joaçaba, Luzerna, Treze Tílias, Capinzal, Erval Velho, Ibicaré, Lacerdópolis, Ouro and Vargem Bonita, which together have 155 schools and 2,812 basic education teachers. Educators from other municipalities interested in contributing can also take part, but will not be eligible for the prize, an attractive differential of the initiative.
The school with the highest proportional number of responding teachers wins a Cineclube Pupilo screening, complete with a popcorn cart, on the first school day of the second semester of 2023.
The survey will be open for participation until April 29. The educational community interested in taking part can consult the prize rules and the survey forms at http://www.pupilo.tv.br/pesquisa
“The survey also allows us to identify schools and educators who already work with video in their schools; the pandemic activated the artistic vein of many teachers who went in front of the cameras during remote classes, and recognizing and publicizing these initiatives is also one of Pupilo’s missions,” concludes Rudolfo.
