Expanded Screen
A cycle of gatherings about making auteur cinema far from the major centres, with mediators such as Carla Abraão (MoMA, Guggenheim). A counterpart to the Campo Mourão workshop, Expanded Screen combined online debates with an in-person video-art performance-showcase, affirming the interior as a space for experimentation and circulation.
About the project
Expanded Screen — formerly titled Auteur Cinema Outside the Capital: Challenges and Opportunities — brings together livestreams, conversations and debates about making auteur cinema far from the major centres. An online counterpart to the Campo Mourão workshop, the series featured among its guests the mediator and art-educator Carla Abraão (MoMA, Guggenheim and the Brooklyn Museum), reflecting on video art, video installation and the internationalisation of productions from the interior — affirming the region as a space for circulation, reflection and experimentation.
