1st Fita de Cinema Festival
A festival celebrating Rogério Sganzerla — a pioneer of marginal cinema born in Joaçaba — uniting cinema, music and memory. The 1st edition (May 2025) screened the feature Tudo é Brasil and shorts about MPB icons, with workshops, school sessions and the opening of the Rogério Sganzerla Memorial.

About the project
The Fita de Cinema Festival celebrates the legacy of Rogério Sganzerla — a filmmaker and producer from Joaçaba, a pioneer of Brazilian marginal cinema — around the date of his birthday, 4 May. More than screening his films, the festival recovers and honours his work, prompting reflection on art, history and cultural identity, with a focus on productions in which music takes centre stage.
The 1st edition took place from 4 to 7 May 2025 in Joaçaba (SC), the filmmaker’s hometown, with online programming extended until 16 May — all free and accessible. Highlights included the screening of the feature Tudo é Brasil (1998) and shorts about Brazilian music icons such as Noel Rosa, Ary Barroso and João Gilberto, as well as workshops, school sessions, debates and a special musical performance.
