5th Chica Pelega Film Festival opens submissions and honors the Contestado caboclo

The Chica Pelega Film Festival reaches its 5th edition — “Caboclo and hinterland territories” — and opened film submissions on August 27. Entries are accepted until September 26, 2026, exclusively through the FilmFreeway platform (filmfreeway.com/mostrachica).

This year, the Chica Pelega trophy features the categories Contestado, Traditional Peoples (shorts and features) and Childhood on Screen, honoring the caboclo of the Contestado region and the territories of Brazil’s interior.

The 5th edition will be held in person in Chapecó (SC) in March 2027, alongside a 31-day online showcase on Pupilo Play.
