Vestindo Histórias + SATED/PR: a real bridge to professionalization in costume design
We believe that dressing stories is an art, and that all art deserves professional recognition. That’s why the Vestindo Histórias Workshop maintains a partnership with SATED/PR (the Paraná Union of Artists and Technicians in Entertainment), ensuring the possibility of professional registration for those who complete the training with dedication and prove practical experience in the field.
More than a free course, the Vestindo Histórias Workshop is a complete costume-design training experience with professional recognition. At the end of the workshop, those with good performance may request professional registration (DRT) with a 50% discount on the issuance fee — a benefit granted by SATED/PR to project participants.
Having the DRT is an important step toward professionalization in the arts market, expanding the possibilities of working in:
cultural grants and funded projects,
and other activities that require formal proof of the profession.
This partnership with SATED/PR and the support of the Paraná State Department of Culture reinforce Vestindo Histórias’ commitment to valuing costume professionals across the state. We know the path of art requires courage, repertoire and technique — and we want to make sure it also has structure and recognition.
Took part in the workshop? Here’s how the professional recognition process works:
You need to receive the certificate as Qualified/Approved.
The course workload is 50 hours, and the methodology is hybrid (online and in-person classes).
You must present proof of at least one job as a costume designer in the last 12 months.
This can be done with contracts, project statements, a documented portfolio, and other formats accepted by SATED/PR.
You have up to 60 days after the certificate date to file the process and secure:
50% discount on the qualification certificate issuance fee.
50% discount on the Professional Registration (DRT) issuance fee with the Regional Labor Office.
⚠️ After this period, the discount is no longer valid and the full SATED/PR rates apply.
With the documents in hand (workshop certificate + proof of experience), you must contact the union to start the formal registration process.
