About the project
Basketball of the Excluded was born in Curitiba in 2013 and has already travelled through Portugal, Spain, Mexico and Brazil. The project brings together an LGBTQIA+ group that occupies public basketball courts to dance vogue — using the body as a form of presence, resistance and celebration of diversity.
In sequence shots that blend documentary and dance, the film dives into this universe and reveals the resilience and creativity of the Brazilian vogue scene, as well as the power of performance in public space.
