About the project
Render Unto Caesar follows a sixty-year-old farmer who, on deciding to retire and reinvent his own life, faces the prejudice of his peers and turbulence within his marriage. Between the desire for change and the weight of what society expects of him, César must find his balance.
Shot in inland Santa Catarina, the short is a co-production of Pupilo with Rachadura Visual, awarded the Prêmio Catarinense de Cinema (Inédito). Written by Felipe Ferreira de Jesus and directed by Marcos Oliveira, it premiered at the Teatro Alfredo Sigwalt, in Joaçaba — another step for the company in auteur fiction cinema of southern Brazil.
